How to change your Discord look with BetterDiscord
Are you using Discord a lot, especially during these quarantine times, to vibe or game with your friends but you’d like to spice it up a bit?
No worries, I got you covered.
First thing head here to be able to download BetterDiscord, which will let you tweak the appearance and some functionalities of your Discord app.
Download the latest release for your operating system (the one for Windows will end in .exe and the one for Mac will have _mac.zip in the name) and install it right away.
Done? Nice, you already are halfway there. :)
Now open your new Discord app and head to Settings, then scroll all the way down to the last section, called Bandaged BD and you will see the Themes entry: click on it and you will see the screen from where you will be able to choose, change and edit your theme. Of course right now you won’t see any theme because we don’t have downloaded them yet.
But from here I suggest you to click the button “Open Theme Folder” because it will come in handy later on, since this is the folder where themes downloaded from the library must be placed in order to enable them inside Discord.
Now let’s move onto the choice of the theme: navigate to https://betterdiscordlibrary.com/themes where you can see all the available themes: pick and download the ones you think you will like the most or that you are just curious to try.
Okay, now those themes will likely be in the Download folder: you need to drag and drop them into the themes folder we opened later from within Discord: once done head to Discord again and you will be able to toggle on or off the one you like the most. That’s it!
